Employee Referral Bonus Program

Want to work with friends? With our Employee Referral Bonus Program, you could earn up to $1,000! Read all the details below.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in working at CHS, please direct them to our website Employment Page. On the online application, ask them to put your name in the “Who referred you for this position?” field.
Effectively recruiting for open vacancies is critical to our success. While there are many methods for recruiting, one viable source is found in referrals from existing employees. Employees will have a vested interest in referring qualified, capable applicants by earning a referral bonus. It is expected that the referring CHS employee will be familiar with the applicant’s work history, job skills, capabilities and work ethic. A referral program encourages existing employees to actively become involved in the success of the company.
All regular full-time, part-time and relief are eligible to participate in the Employee Referral Bonus Program. Employees with hiring authority are not eligible to participate when hiring for their own teams. There is no length of service requirement to be eligible to refer an applicant, and there is no limit to the number of referrals that can be made by one employee.
If the applicant is selected and hired, the employee will become eligible for the referral bonus as outlined below (as long as the referred employee is performing satisfactorily):
$500 Bonus paid for referring a Relief or Part-Time staff:
- $250 — paid after referred employee has completed 6 months of successful employment
- $250 — paid after referred employee has completed 12 months of successful employment
$1000 Bonus paid for referring a Full-Time staff:
- $500 — paid after referred employee has completed 6 months of successful employment
- $500 — paid after referred employee has completed 12 months of successful employment
In order for a referral to qualify, the applicant must not have previously applied directly to the company, or responded independently to any form of company recruiting effort (job fair, advertising, etc.) within 12 months preceding the referral. A qualifying referral would not include former employees gone from CHS less than 12 months, a contract/temporary employee, or an applicant already under consideration.
Referral bonuses will be paid (with applicable taxes withheld) in conjunction with the next available payroll cycle. A referring employee must be actively employed at the time the bonus is paid in order to be eligible (separation from service in advance disqualifies the employee from receiving the bonus).
CHS reserves the right to modify this program at any time.
